I have a Fender CD60 that came factory fitted with a ‘plastic’ saddle and nut. I play at home for my own pleasure and the sound produced by the fender was fine. I wanted to get a more refined sound so I thought about replacing the saddle and nut with a different material…probably bone. I looked at a few videos on YouTube about how to do this and quickly came to the conclusion that it was a more difficult operation than I had thought….and best left to someone who knew what they were doing and had the tools to do a good job. A search on the internet led me Really Great Guitars. I called Andy and explained what I was after. Not a problem! As I am local I dropped my guitar round to his workshop. An ‘Aladins cave’ of specialist tools that gives a real sense of professionalism. Andy explained what he could do to improve my Fender and by lunchtime the following day it was ready for me to pick up. What a difference…even my wife noticed! Subsequently, I took my Ibanez to him for a general service / set up / check etc and it now plays better than ever.
