This great piece of Rock n Roll history was owned and played by renowned bass player Greg Masters of ‘The Idle Race’ band, who were very prominent during the 1960s. This old Gal has been gigged and used on various recordings with the band. Besides The Idle Race, Greg worked with notable artists including Roy Wood, Steve Gibbons and others. Comes with a handwritten letter of provenance & signed by Greg Masters.

This bass is in great original order, with the original Humbucker pickup & baritone switch, and banjo tuners (1959 was the last year of the banjo tuners) She includes playwear you would expect from an instrument of circa 65 years old. Her Mahogany neck & Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard are a joy to feel & play. She sleeps in an original ‘Victoria Luggage gold-lined EB-2 Case from the same period. This is a great bass, with that 60s retro “Mudbucker” vibe, but is also a surprisingly versatile bass, particularly due to its functional baritone switch.
