Heads Up….For sale we have this lovely Pre-Washburn (IE a proper USA built) all original 1997 Parker Fly Deluxe with original Fly gig bag. This black beauty plays amazingly well, with a neck & action to get really excited about. She is in great condition, except for a 40mm long lacquer split just behind the bass end of the bridge (There is absolutely no split to the body wood) and a few grazes here and there. All in all, considering this guitar is 20 years old, we’re looking at a great example of the pre-refined, pre US Music Corp Parker.

IMPORTANT POINT: If getting a Parker Fly, you really want to be getting one from the years 1997/98 or 99, as anything after that is more than likely Indonesian & NOT the real USA deal!

This guitar has not been modified in the slightest, the pickups are OEM DiMarzios.  She has the Fishman piezo system for very convincing acoustic guitar sounds.  This guitar does take a 9V battery for the acoustic sounds to work.  There is a TRS output so you can output acoustic sounds and electric sounds to different amps (like a PA and guitar amp, respectively).

But the real defining characteristics of the Parker Fly Deluxe are is ergonomic design, and the whammy/Vibrato system.

Ergonomics:  This is one of, if not the lightest (5lb-13oz) full sized electric guitar design out there. This baby is a dream to hold and will not give you curvature of the spine! The neck is as fast as it gets, and fret access is unrivalled.  The contours of the body hug the player, and this guitar is as comfortable as an electric guitar gets to play, whether sitting or standing.  It feels like it was meant to play in a classical guitar playing position.

Vibrato:  it comes down to what you want.  If you’re looking to do lots of crazy dive bombs, this guitar can do it but well set up Floyd Rose system is better.  That said, for most practical situations, the Parker vibrato is better.  Why?  Here’s a list:
-quick set/toggle between fixed, dive only, and floating (up or down)
-quicker re-stringing and better tuning stability in the event of unforeseen events (like a broken string)
-extremely reliable tuning stability
-no extra hardware, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc necessary to give the trem system a set up.
-re-tensioning the trem system is very easy and quick due to the wheel behind the bridge, which manipulates “spring” (it’s actually more like a claw) tension.

It comes with the original Fly padded gig bag
