Wow, Wow, Wow…This ultra gorgeous Gibson Memphis ES-390 is supremely perfect in every way. What a feel to this luscious red-headed lady. The tonal possibilities are enormous, from wonderfully bright highs, to crushing lows & even that Telecaser twang when in the centre Neck/Bridge position. I just love this guitar. Reminds me of the old Ibanez Artist AM-50 of the 70’s, so if you like the feel of a slightly smaller body than a regular 335, then this is the guitar for you. She is light at just 5.5lb

This girl has barely seen the light of day since her birth in 2013. Never gigged, just lovingly looked at occasionally! She comes with her original case & all candy inc certificate of authenticity.

Here’s your chance to grab a real piece of Memphis Musicality at a true bargain price.

Some Blurb:

The Gibson ES-390 Hollowbody is a hybrid of vintage chic styling and modern creativity: partnering the compact ES-339 body shape with a fully hollow construction a-la ES-330! Perfect for those that want the look and feel of a semi hollow (335 or 339) but want the bold no-holds-barred tone of a true (no centerblock) hollow body!

Mini humbuckers are based on the PAF internals, alnico II magnets and 42 AWG wire so you get classic crunchy vintage tones!

Finished in Faded Cherry over a plain maple top for a really classic vintage look.

Here’s what Gibson say about the ES-390

New from Gibson Memphis, the ES-390 brings together elements of both traditional and innovative Gibson archtop-electric design. With the compact and supremely comfortable body size of the iconic semi-hollow ES-339, but the fully hollow “thinline” body of a legendary guitar like the ES-330, the ES-390 has the versatility to tackle any kind of music. And, of course, it plays superbly as only a genuine Gibson guitar can.

In the tradition of the ground-breaking ES-335, the new ES-390 is constructed of laminated maple with a hot-pressed arched top and back, but rather than concealing the ES-335’s center block it is fully hollow inside, achieving the woody warmth and resonance of an acoustic archtop guitar, in an ultra-comfortable package. Two of Gibson’s Mini-Humbucking pickups translate all that tone to everything from rich and bluesy to shimmering and twangy. A classic set of high-quality hardware and appointments anchor it all down beautifully. To top it all off, the ES-390 looks both classic and contemporary in your choice of Cherry or Ebony finish, or in a highly figured maple finished in a classic Vintage Sunburst or rich Vintage Cherry. Both in high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, trimmed with cream top, back, and fingerboard binding, with a traditional five-ply black pickguard. Check it out now at your authorized Gibson Memphis dealer.

Body and Neck

The ES-390 is a more compact version of the original 330s of the mid sixties with a fully hollow body made from laminated maple with traditional f-holes. The result is a dynamic blend of the traditional archtop’s looks and sonic depth with amazing overall playing comfort. The neck is crafted from solid mahogany, and topped with a bound fingerboard made from hand-selected dark rosewood, inlaid with simple but elegant block markers.

Pickups and Electronics

A pair of Gibson’s popular Mini-Humbucking pickups provide optimum sonic versatility for the ES-390. Made with genuine Alnico II magnets and wound with 42 AWG wire like the original full-sized PAF humbuckers, the Mini-Humbuckers offer a similar sonic signature and excellent hum rejection, with a brighter overall character and improved clarity to help you cut through the mix. They are routed through the traditional complement of two independent volume and two independent tone controls, and a three-way Switchcraft toggle selector.

Hardware and Plastics

The ES-390 carries Gibson’s legendary Tune-o-matic bridge and trapeze tailpiece tailpiece, with high-quality TonePros tuners with butterscotch keystone buttons, all plated in nickel for a classic look. The controls have black Top-Hat knobs with silver inserts, and the guitar has a traditional bell truss-rod cover and five-ply b/w/b/w/b pickguard.

Case and Coverage

Every ES-390 comes protected in silkscreened Gibson case, and includes a Certificate of Authenticity and owner’s manual.
